The deserts around Matmata, Tozeur and Nefta provided the landscape for Luke Skywalker's home planet. Many of the original sets are still standing — including the underground rooms of the Lars Homestead (now Hotel Sidi Driss in Matmata) and the Mos Espa film set in the dunes near Nefta.

- How to get there
- Fly into Djerba or Tozeur. Stay overnight at Hotel Sidi Driss to sleep in the actual Lars Homestead. Local 4x4 tours run daily to Mos Espa.

- Plan 1–2 days here, or build it into a wider regional trip.

- Bring layers, comfortable shoes, and a camera. Check seasonal opening hours before booking.
